Appreciating the wins and small victories
I love milestones and markers. 10 Days in and I will say that I definitely feel the burn of holding myself accountable to these posts.
I have done gratitude lists for years. My questions to many will be how tightly they hold to the routine of doing anything. Since I work with people on routine, here are my suggestions for making this process easier:
MAKE IT DAILY
For some reason, when I work with anyone mentoring them, asking them to call me 2 - 3 times per week does not work as well as daily check ins. I think the routine of doing something daily builds a very important accountability muscle!
MAKE IT AT THE SAME TIME
I actually carve time out of my schedule to do my writing. But, I also carve out time to make my gratitude list. When you schedule it, you are more likely to make it happen! It also gives it the respect it deserves.
SCHEDULE AROUND IT
One of my biggest issues in the early days was scheduling over something that was important to me. Do you ever do that? You schedule time to do something for you only to find that you have gone back on your word. It is a huge sign of self care to make sure you hold firm to your commitments and that means the commitments to yourself!
