The Habit of Happiness
Why make Gratitude a daily habit or practice?
I sort of posed this to myself. I could never understand why all the countless healers and life coaches would always talk about focusing on what I want instead of always focusing on what I don't want.
1. WE ARE ALL VIBRATION
That means what we think all day, we are. When you focus on all the bad things that are happening, guess what, you are radiating all that bad energy. So if you are focused on the parking ticket you just got, the rain puddle you just stepping into or the heel you just broke--STOP. Immediately.
2. NOT EVERYTHING HAPPENS EASILY
Ever wondered why basketball players always thank god? I did. I always rolled my eyes when various pop stars and athletes and anyone on a podium thanked God, until I hit a rough patch in my own life.
When things finally started to turn around, you better believe I was grateful! Because I now know that we are not totally in control of all the miraculous things that happen to us. Some of it happens because we are ready, some of it because we are positive and some of it happens way beyond our control. We thank god or the universe to pay respect to the blessings that come our way. When things align, it is important to recognize those moments.
3. POSITIVITY BEGETS MORE POSITIVITY
Not only that, when you vibrate positivity, more of it comes your way. So from an entirely selfish stand point, it only benefits you to stay positive.
4. GRATITUDE IS A MUSCLE
My assistant was in my office just today. When I told her to start writing down all the things that are going right, she said: oh yeah! Like exercise. Yes, exactly. An attitude of gratitude must be practiced daily if you are going to radiate positivity.
Here is my list for Wednesday, March 27:
1. My flower mart flowers (seen in pic above)
2. My okay night of sleep
3. A great Soul Cycle with David (the instructor in Hollywood)
4. An amazing meditation
5. My great publishing assistant Stephanie!
WHAT IS ONE THING YOU ARE GRATEFUL FOR TODAY?
