Why a Day of Rest?
In creating abundance and happiness, it is essential to take care of oneself.
Its a barely kept secret amongst my closest friends that I carve out Saturday as my day to myself. I work in a business where I (and my employees) give a lot of ourselves to our clients.
PICK 1 DAY A WEEK FOR YOURSELF
Saturday is a day that I re-charge. I actually start with the morning and pretty much detox off of all Social Media for the day. If you are a mom or have a ton of responsibilities, this time to yourself might be difficult to carve out. It should be something you schedule around.
SCHEDULE AROUND IT
It's time you book with yourself. It was hard for me at first. Well actually no. I worked so hard building my business, that early on Saturday I could barely move. I would sit like a vegetable watching Netflix all day long. I couldn't really do much of anything. It was at that point that I realized I had to treat myself a lot better during the week! Once I created better boundaries with people, I got my energy back big time.
HOLD THAT DAY FIRM
Today, I absolutely hold firm on my Saturdays. It's my ME time. I don't communicate with people. I don't brunch. I do things for myself. That means I keep the day free for whatever I might want to do. In my case, a lot of that time is about reading, writing or just laying around.
Since I spread out my Self Care during the entire week, Saturday is just de-compression time.
